Abel Hernandez will continue to be a goal threat for Palermo this season after links with Inter were shot down.

Reports emanating from Milan were suggesting that the Uruguayan was wanted as a back-up to Diego Milito by the Beneamata.

“Inter have not looked at him,” representative Vincenzo D’Ippolito noted. “He will not be the vice Milito in Andrea Stramaccioni’s plans.

“There is nothing in the stories at all and Hernandez will certainly remain at Palermo.”

The striker, who will be 22 in August, joined the Stadio Barbera outfit from Penarol in January 2009. He’s contracted to the Sicilian outfit until 2016.

Hernandez had his injury problems last term that restricted him to just six goals in 20 top-flight appearances.
