Bologna and Sassuolo failed to find a deal last night for striker Sergio Floccari, which also blocks Matteo Mancosu's move to Carpi.

Reports have been circulating of a late-night meeting between the two clubs to find the best terms for the sale of 34-year-old Floccari.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, the negotiations came to nothing. The Neroverdi's demand of €1m for the player was turned down, as the Rossoblu were hoping for a cheaper deal.

The failure to find an agreement also causes problems for the projected transfer of Bologna's Mancosu to Carpi.

The two clubs had an agreement for the striker to join the Biancorossi on a loan with an option to purchase, which would have turned into a compulsory signing if Carpi avoided relegation.

But it seems unlikely Bologna will still wish to deprive themselves of a striker with no appropriate replacement in sight.
