Nigeria coach José Peseiro warns Napoli that ‘it won’t be easy’ to keep hold of Manchester United target Victor Osimhen: ‘They will receive many offers…’

The Nigeria international is Serie A’s leading scorer with eight goals in 10 appearances and has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils wanted to sign ‘Osi’ in the summer, and reports in the UK suggest they’ll be ready to make a move in January or at the end of the season.

“He scored many goals and is still very young,” Nigeria coach Peseiro told TMW.

“It’s not easy, usually strikers reach his level at an older age, but I don’t think I am wrong when I say that every club in the world would like to sign him.

“He presses, scores and uses his body, he could play for any club,” continued the Portuguese tactician.

“Osimhen is a complete striker, I think Napoli will demand several million in the summer and I think many clubs will make their moves because Osimhen still has room for improvement.”

The Nigeria international will turn 24 on December 29 and has scored nine goals in 13 appearances across all competitions this season.

Overall, he has bagged 37 goals in 75 appearances with the Partenopei since his €75m move from Lille in 2020.

His contract at the Stadio Maradona runs out in the summer and multiple reports in Italy claim Napoli will demand more than €100m at the end of the season.
