Neymar said he’s “one of 200m Brazil fans” watching tonight’s semi-final with Germany and hinted he’ll be there for the Final.

The striker was ruled out for around six weeks by a fractured vertebra, caused by Juan Camilo Zuniga’s knee during the win over Colombia.

“I don’t know how to thank you for all the affection and many messages of support I received since Friday,” wrote Neymar on Facebook and Instagram.

“I’d like to speak more than one language so that I can thank everyone in the world. All these messages made the last few days less painful.

“I will watch the Germany game from afar today… I am back to being one of 200m Brazil fans and know how important that support is for the guys on the field.

“I want to thank all the people who sent me their positive energy and I’d like us to remain united until the last second, so I can be with you (fans and teammates) next Sunday… at the Maracana.”

Some have taken this as a hint Neymar will be ready to play in the Final, but medical staff again ruled that out.

It was more likely a wish that Brazil can beat Germany and therefore play in the World Cup Final with him in the stands.

Meanwhile, the crowd at tonight’s semi-final in Belo Horizonte are expected to hold up 60,000 Neymar masks.
