According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Newcastle’s new owners are so ambitious that they want to bring Antonio Conte to the club and are ready to make an offer for the former Inter and Juventus coach.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has bought 80 per cent shares in the club for €350m and they seem to have big plans for the future of the Magpies.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Conte is their main target for the bench and they could soon make an offer for the former Chelsea coach.
Conte won four Serie A titles and one Premier League during his coaching career and is considered one of the best managers in the world.
He parted ways with Inter after winning the Scudetto last season.
Although negotiations haven’t begun yet, La Gazzetta reports Conte could be tempted as ‘he’s always been attracted by ambitious and concrete’ projects.’
The Italian coach is currently working as a Champions League pundit for Sky Sport Italia and he may not consider offers until the end of the season.
