The Slovakian international is liked by many of Europe’s top clubs, but the Azzurri have moved to tighten their grip on him.

Talks regarding new improved terms have been going on since the start of the campaign and a compromise has been reached.

“Everything has been agreed and defined,” the attacking midfielder stated after the win at Palermo. “All that is missing is a signature.”

Hamsik, formerly of Brescia, is presently tied to the Stadio San Paolo outfit until June 2015. His new deal will end in 2016.

The 24-year-old, linked with Milan last summer, joined Napoli in 2007 after a €5.5m fee was agreed with the Lombard outfit.
