Departing FIGC chief Carlo Tavecchio admits “it’s difficult for the new Italy CT to be appointed before June.”

Italy have been without a CT since Giampiero Ventura was sacked for failing to guide the country to the 2018 World Cup, but Tavecchio – who will stay in charge of the FIGC until his own heir is elected at the end of January – accepts “the best Coaches are under contract” at the moment.

“Since the day after Sweden, I haven’t said a word,” he told reporters.
