After intense speculation linking him with both Manchester United and Barcelona in recent days, expectation is that developments will come soon or not at all.
For his Coach, however, thinking about the future has not drawn concern.
“I have never thought about losing Juan,” Montella has told reporters, following Fiorentina’s 2-1 win over Real Madrid at the weekend.
“For me he has been there before, he is there now and he will be there in the future. I do not think constantly about how this story may end.
“Someone like him can play in all the roles. Out wide and also behind the strikers. Also he can play at right-back, but in a team that has a lot of possession at a high level.”
