Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas says it would be a dream to face Italy counterpart Gigi Buffon this coming Friday.

It is still uncertain whether the Azzurri captain will be fit to face the Central Americans in what is both teams’ second World Cup encounter.

The Ticos caused one of the surprises of the tournament so far by beating Uruguay 3-1 on Saturday and their shot-stopper says the team now has more self-belief.

“Thanks to the first win we are now more confident in ourselves,” Navas told reporters at Costa Rica’s tournament base.

“We play as a real group because we know we are able to count on each other.

“Buffon is an idol, it will be a dream to come up against him.”
