Arkadiusz Milik has spoken for the first time since rupturing his ACL with Poland, which will keep him out of the Napoli side for six months.

“Today I have a flight to Rome, then an examination and probably an operation, Milik explained.

Arkadiusz Milik has spoken for the first time since rupturing his ACL with Poland, which will keep him out of the Napoli side for six months.

The interview, transmitted via Poland’s official YouTube account had to be cut short as the striker was moved to tears.

“Today I have a flight to Rome, then an examination and probably an operation, Milik explained.

“Obviously, my leg hurts, and I feel worse than before…”

After he was unable to finish the interview, the 22-year-old’s international team-mates sent him messages of support.

Fellow striker Robert Lewandowski was the first to give Milik some hope, by telling him to keep going through the tough times.

“Never give up. I know you will come back stronger to help your national team.”

It was then the turn Borussia Dortmund full-back Lukasz Piszczek to deliver a slightly harsher message by telling his colleague that it wasn’t the ‘end of the world’.

“This is not the end of the world. You have to be patient. In four to five months you will be able to resume your career."
