Sime Vrsaljko seems closer to Atletico Madrid than ever, so Napoli are instead turning to Monaco full-back Fabinho.

Maurizio Sarri had targeted Sassuolo and Croatia talent Vrsaljko to reinforce his defence next season.

However, according to Sky Sport Italia, Atletico Madrid have managed to convince both player and club that he should move to Spain.

With that in mind, Napoli are instead focusing on 22-year-old Brazilian Fabinho.

He only joined Monaco in 2013 on loan with option to buy from Portuguese side Rio Ave FC.

Valued at around €15m, Fabinho already has four senior caps for Brazil.
