Luciano Spalletti is on track to guide Napoli to their first Scudetto in over three decades and his future at the club is in no doubt.

The 63-year-old Italian coach took over in July 2021, penning a two-year contract with an option for both a third and fourth year. In his first season in Campania, Spalletti guided Napoli to a third place finish in Serie A, nine points ahead of fourth place Juventus and seven points behind champions Milan.

Il Mattino details how Napoli have no intention of losing Spalletti in the summer and will automatically renew his contract for a third year in the summer, worth €2.7m net. The 63-year-old has become a hero in the Campania capital and lifting the Scudetto in the summer will give him a legendary status in the city.

Many fans and observers believe that Spalletti’s Napoli could go all the way in the Champions League this season. The team have already taken a step towards this, comfortably securing a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Round of 16 clash.
