Multiple reports suggest Napoli are going in strong for Genoa striker Christian Kouame in January, preferring him to Krzysztof Piatek.

According to Rai Sport and Mediaset, Piatek is considered too expensive at €30m, especially as Napoli are already have Poland international Arkadiusz Milik finally finding his fitness.

Instead, Kouame would be closer to €20m plus bonuses and bring a different energy with his pace and work-rate.

According to Rai Sport and Mediaset, Piatek is considered too expensive at €30m, especially as Napoli are already have Poland international Arkadiusz Milik finally finding his fitness.

The 21-year-old former Cittadella striker can play wide right or left, as well as a centre-forward, and already attracted interest from Milan.

While Piatek hit the headlines with 13 Serie A goals this season, Kouame contributed three goals and four assists.

It’s reported Carlo Ancelotti has given the all-clear to this transfer deal, although Kouame would remain at Genoa on loan until the end of the season.
