The Partenopei have a tempestuous relationship with the media, entering “silenzio stampa [Press silence]” after Gonzalo Higuain’s suspension last season, as well as toward the end of Rafa Benitez’s reign.

“From this season, Coach of our first team Maurizio Sarri’s meetings with the media will be attended by journalists from publications directly invited by Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli,” a statement reads.

“The first conference of the season will take place on Saturday August 20 at 3pm in the Press room at the sports centre in Castel Volturno.”

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport may find themselves uninvited, as Napoli were unhappy with one of their stories during the Higuain saga.
