Napoli are progressing well in talks with Lille for €80m-rated Nicolas Pepe, offering Adam Ounas and cash, but the player remains unconvinced.

The Partenopei are giving up on James Rodriguez, refusing to pay the €42m outright unless they get him from Atletico Madrid on loan with option to buy.

They’ve turned their focus towards a different type of player, one who can provide plenty of goals and has a high resale value for the future.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Lille are more than happy to sell Pepe to Napoli in exchange for cash (circa €60-65m) plus Algeria international winger Ounas.

The main sticking point would be the player, as the 24-year-old Ivorian has his sights set on the Premier League, with interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Pepe scored 23 goals with 12 assists in 41 competitive games for Lille last season.
