According to Sky Sport Italia, the former Liverpool shot-stopper is frustrated at the lack of playing time in Germany.

He could well return to Napoli, where he impressed last season, as Rafael and Mariano Andujar are not considered fully reliable first choices.

Reina was well loved by the Partenopei supporters and the feeling was mutual, as shown by his occasional visits back to the city and tweets cheering on his old teammates during games.

Napoli aren’t the only option for the Spaniard, though, as Inter are also considering Reina as a potential replacement for Samir Handanovic.

The Slovenia international is nearing the end of his contract and could be sacrificed to match Financial Fair Play demands.
