Napoli are reportedly offering €22m for Sime Vrsaljko, but Atletico Madrid continue to stall.

The Partenopei want to sign the defender in January, but President Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted the Spanish club don’t want to sell in January.

According to Il Mattino, the offer on the table is €22m, with Vrsaljko being offered a four year contract worth around €2.8m per season.

His agent, Giuseppe Riso, has given the OK to the deal but Atleti are still not keen to sell in the winter transfer window.

The Croatian international has played 90 minutes in each of their last two games, providing an assist in both, and Diego Simeone wants to keep him for the second half of the season.

Adam Masina of Bologna is a possible alternative, given that Faouzi Ghoulam is out with a long-term injury, but Napoli would prefer a right-back as a long-term replacement for Christian Maggio.

Vrsaljko is capable of playing on either side, as is Elseid Hysaj who is currently filling in on the left.

Therefore, Il Mattino reports, Matteo Darmian would be the ideal alternative to Vrsaljko as he can also play on either flank.
