The transfer window is closed in Serie A, but some markets remain open and Napoli hope to take advantage by offering Diego Demme to Fenerbahce.

The Italian clubs can no longer sign new players, unless they are free agents, after Friday’s deadline.

However, the Turkish sides are still open for business, along with the Saudi Pro League.

According to Sporx, Napoli tried to propose midfielder Demme to Fenerbahce for a cut-price fee, bordering on nothing, as long as they took his salary off their books.

The club does not seem to be particularly enthusiastic about the idea, so Napoli could be stuck with him.

Demme had been linked with Fiorentina, Hertha Berlin and other clubs in the Bundesliga, but no agreement was found.

His contract only runs to the end of the season, so an early termination by mutual consent is not out of the question either.

The 31-year-old was purchased from RB Leipzig in January 2020 for €10.25m.
