The rumours emerged on TuttoMercatoWeb and La Gazzetta del Sud, but gained short shrift when Sportitalia talked to director of sport Bigon.
“No, there is absolutely no possibility that Pato will arrive at Napoli,” shrugged Bigon.
CalcioNapoli24 also interviewed Pato’s agent Gilmar Veloz this evening.
“I can say immediately that it would be a very difficult situation, as it’s very unlikely Sao Paulo would release him.
“The club worked so hard to get Pato and will do everything to keep hold of him if there is interest from a European club.
“I never heard from Napoli, if the club is interested then they know who to speak to, but I can already say from now it’d be tough…”
