Meanwhile in Italy, Corriere dello Sport agrees the Partenopei are ’serious‘ and preparing an ’assault‘ for the 22-year-old as Coach Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of the player.

The southerners have already bolstered their defence with the signings of Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Kostas Manolas but are not yet done as they look to replace Mario Rui.

Tierney, for his part, is recovering from hernia surgery but is highly rated by Celtic and has 12 caps for his country.

The Daily Mail believes an offer of £25m (€28m) will be enough to tempt the Scottish champions into a sale.
