Napoli will have to do without promising forward Giacomo Raspadori for at least a month following his recent left thigh injury.

The 23-year-old Italian forward has struggled for consistent minutes in 2023, failing to make a single start across seven league outings. His most recent appearance was a seven-minute cameo in the 3-0 win over Cremonese and after this he suffered a thigh injury in training, forcing him to miss the 2-0 victory over Sassuolo.

As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli have already confirmed a second-degree injury to the semimembranosus muscle in Raspadori’s left thigh, an injury that’ll keep him out of action for around 30 to 40 days.

This means the former Sassuolo man is set to miss out on Napoli’s next five or six matches at least – Eintracht Frankfurt (February 21), Empoli (February 25), Lazio (March 3), Atalanta (March 11), Eintracht Frankfurt (March 15) and Torino (March 19).

It’s a frustrating injury for Raspadori, who shined in the group stages of the Champions League for Napoli, scoring four goals and providing two assists across five games.
