The deal incensed President Aurelio De Laurentiis, and when Hysaj renewed this week it was made clear that his release clause isn’t valid in Serie A.
“Napoli are a wonderful club with great values, who gave the right reward to the player,” Mario Giuffredi said in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.
“We’re happy with how De Laurentiis acted, Elseid had four years on his contract, but the club made themselves available. We behaved in the right ways too.
“The clause? It’s only valid for abroad, they’ve learned their lesson from Higuain. There are many Napoli players who have these kind of clauses.
“He’d only move to a foreign club anyway.”
