“Next up for the Azzurri is a Europa League group stage clash against AZ Alkmaar at the Stadio San Paolo on Thursday (18:55 CEST kick-off).

“The squad was split up into two groups, with those involved from the start against Atalanta working through a recovery session in the gym. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad headed to Pitch 3 for some rondos and passing drills, followed by technique exercises, finishing practice and practice games.

“Lorenzo Insigne trained alone outside for some of the session, joining up with his team-mates for the remainder.”

The Italy winger picked up a hamstring injury in the opening minutes of Napoli-Genoa three weeks ago and is close to returning to action even though it may not happen as early as next Thursday when the Partenopei face AZ Alkmaar in Europa League.
