The Neroverdi had until now shut down any talks, but are now ready to set the price-tag of €20-25m plus the loan of Algerian winger Ounas.
This is more than within Napoli’s price range and Politano’s versatility, as well as familiarity with Serie A football, makes this a very likely deal to go through.
At the same time, Napoli agreed a €5m swoop for Ajax winger Amin Younes, who could undergo a medical as early as tomorrow.
It’s a cheap deal because Younes had already promised himself to the Serie A leaders as a free agent once his contract expires in June.
