Napoli will meet Mauro Icardi’s wife – and agent – today, choosing the Inter striker to replace Gonzalo Higuain.

Sky Sport Italia and the Corriere dello Sport claim an encounter has already been set up between President Aurelio De Laurentiis, director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli, general manager (and contract specialist) Andrea Chiavelli and Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara in Verona.

The 23-year-old Argentine is the number one choice for the club and Coach Maurizio Sarri to replace Higuain.

Juventus will activate the release clause on Higuain’s contract for €90m.

Napoli reportedly hope to reach an agreement with Icardi first so he can push Inter into a sale, but the offer must be above €50m.

There is a major issue of image rights, something De Laurentiis is determined to have and which often causes problems with contract negotiations.

According to Sky Sport Italia, ADL is willing to make an exception and could leave 50 per cent of the image rights to Icardi in this case.

His image rights are believed to be worth €2.3m per season.

It's reported the wages on offer are €5m per year.
