Napoli have released a statement following rumours Gonzalo Higuain will leave, saying anyone who wants him will have to pay the release clause.

The Argentinian international has been linked with the likes of Milan and Arsenal, after the Partenopei failed to qualify for the Champions League.

However, in a statement released to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the Vesuviani have warned any suitors will have to pay the €94m release clause.

However, in a statement released to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the Vesuviani have warned any suitors will have to pay the €94m release clause.

“Napoli are keen to clarify certain articles, published in some newspapers, about the departure of Higuain,” the statement began.

“The official clarification from Napoli is the following: there is a clause in Gonzalo Higuain’s contract. The clause is €94,736,000.

"There have been no bids. Anyone who wants the player will have to pay the club that amount."
