Amid reports Manchester United raised their demands for Marouane Fellaini, Napoli turn to Tottenham midfielder Sandro.

Rafa Benitez continues to look towards the Premier League for midfield reinforcements this summer, but there are increasing rumours the bid for Fellaini is losing ground.

This is partly because Manchester United raised their demands, wanting €5m (£4m) to hand the Belgium international over on a one-year loan deal.

Another reason is that Napoli drew Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League preliminary round and are hesitant to make any big financial commitments before knowing whether they’ll be in the competition this season.

According to Sport Mediaset, they are now turning their focus back towards 25-year-old Sandro of Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s reported Zenit had been on the verge of snapping up Sandro with his ex-manager Andre Villas Boas at the helm, but the Russians are pushing for Manchester City’s Javi Garcia instead.

With Sandro’s future now up in the air, Napoli hope to dive in and take advantage of the situation.
