Napoli have confirmed a tendon injury for their defender Amir Rrahmani.

The Albania international was subbed off in the second half of Sunday’s 4-1 win over Cremonese.

“Following medical examinations, it has been determined that Amir Rrahmani, who came off in Napoli’s last game against Cremonese, has suffered a tendon injury in his left thigh,” Napoli said in an official statement today.

“The defender has already started on his path to recovery.”

Rrahmani has been a regular starter under Luciano Spalletti, playing 982 minutes across 11 appearances in all competitions this season.

He should be replaced by Juan Jesus in the home Champions League clash against Ajax tomorrow. According to Sky Sport Italia, Rrahmani will remain out of action for one to two months.

Napoli trained at Castel Volturno today, preparing for the game against the Lancers.

“The session began with some activation drills and rondos,” said Napoli.

“Tactical work and a small-sided game were also on the agenda before set-piece practice to finish off.”

Osimhen trained with the rest of the team yesterday and today and is expected to be called up for the match against Ajax after missing the last six games with a femoral bicep injury.
