Napoli are reportedly looking to close a deal for Boca Juniors midfielder Agustin Almendra and have opened talks for Olympique Lyonnais’ Ferland Mendy.

Today’s edition of Corriere del Mezzogiorno reports the Partenopei are ready to pay the €20m release clause of the 19-year-old defensive midfielder.

Almendra has played 18 times between League and cup competitions this season for Boca and has caught the eye of both Napoli and Monaco.

The paper also claims there has been contact between the club and representatives of Lyon left-back Mendy, following on from Gianluca Di Marzio’s initial scoop.

The 23-year-old picked up his first cap for the French national team in a friendly with Uruguay in November.
