Napoli are reported to be closing in on a deal to sign Verona’s Jorginho for a total price of €10m.

The Vesuviani have been one of a number of clubs linked with a midseason move for the 22-year-old Brazilian, who has impressed this term in Serie A with Verona.

Il Mattino are today running the line that Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club have beaten competition to agree a deal for the player, who already has seven goals to his name this term.

It is understood that the transfer agreed has Napoli paying out an initial fee of €7.5m to take Jorginho now, whilst a further €2.5m could be paid out in various follow-on clauses.

The youngster, who yesterday played in Verona’s 3-0 home defeat to Napoli, will reportedly pick up a starting annual wage of €800,000.

Reports have it that the parties involved will meet on Monday to finalise terms and seal the deal.
