Italian media claim Napoli can get Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United for just €7m this season.

The Partenopei have made no secret of their intention to get the Belgium international, but only on loan with an option to buy.

They would also require Manchester United to pay half his wages, as Premier League salaries are much higher than in Serie A, where clubs are trying to rein in costs.

An Italian club would simply not be prepared to pay Fellaini’s current £100,000 per week.

According to Il Sole 24 Ore, Napoli could get Fellaini for a total cost of €7m (£5.6m) for the 2014-15 campaign.

This would be split into paying around €3m for the loan and €4m in wages.

The buy-out fee would then be negotiated at the end of the season, when Rafa Benitez has seen how he fits into the squad.

Manchester United need Fellaini to impress, as his value has crumbled since they paid £27.5m to sign him from Everton a year ago.
