According to the Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have contacted Torino to lay the groundwork for a mid-season swoop worth €40m.

They need to get in early, because Tuttosport note that Belotti is getting ready to sign a new contract that would include a massive release clause, believed to be €90m.

Torino are so far shrugging off this interest, partly because they are not on good terms with Napoli.

The two clubs had a lengthy tug-of-war over defender Nikola Maksimovic, which was only resolved on transfer deadline day after the Serbian had gone AWOL from training to force the move.

Napoli aren’t the only club interested in Belotti, who has also caught the eye of Arsenal, Manchester United and Leicester City.
