Napoli have reportedly opened talks with a view to signing Verona midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in January.

Amrabat has caught the eye of Napoli this season with a string of impressive displays for Verona, and Gianluca Di Marzio claims contacts have been made between the two clubs regarding a deal.

However, there seems to be a distance between the Partenopei’s offer, believed to be between €13-14m with bonuses, and Verona’s said demands of €18m.

Di Marizio also reports Verona President Maurizio Setti met Inter officials yesterday over selling them the Moroccan.

Inter coach Antonio Conte is seeking reinforcements in midfield, but it’s unknown at this stage if the Nerazzurri have tabled a bid for the player.

Hellas only signed the 25-year-old from Club Brugge in August.
