Napoli will reportedly go back in for Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to Calciomercato.com, Napoli had agreed a €25m deal with Genoa for Pavoletti in the final week of August but were knocked back by the player.

Nonetheless, the website claims President Aurelio De Laurentiis is a big fan of the 28-year-old, thus Partenopei will make another offer for the latter this winter, possibly involving Manolo Gabbiadini.

Pavoletti recently told the Italian Press: “The market? I’m just thinking about Genoa, then next year we’ll see.”

It is understood that the former Sassuolo attacker refused Napoli on the grounds that he could not be promised regular first-team football, but an injury to Arkadiusz Milik may have changed things.
