Lorenzo Insigne penalty

Napoli have been awarded the most penalties out of any team in Europe’s top five leagues this season, ahead of teams like Manchester City and Liverpool.

The Partenopei have been awarded 10 penalties in the league so far this season, the only team in Europe’s top five leagues to be in the double digits. Behind them is Inter and Fiorentina, who have both been awarded nine each.

As highlighted by AS, only four teams in the top five leagues have not given away a penalty this season: Liverpool, Barcelona, Burnley and Cologne.

Napoli still boast the best penalty balance however, having giving away only one penalty this Serie A season, which sees them sit with a +9 balance overall.

In the Premier League, Manchester City and Chelsea have both been given seven penalties each and in Germany the list is topped by RB Leipzig with eight. Valencia tops La Liga’s list with eight, the same amount as top of the list Nice in France.
