Spanish newspaper AS claims Napoli have asked Real Madrid to take Jese Rodriguez on loan in January.
The Partenopei had already been linked with the 22-year-old over the summer.
He is under contract until June 2017, but is struggling for playing time under Rafa Benitez.
So far this season he managed only one appearance for 55 minutes in La Liga.
That was a 0-0 draw with Sporting Gijon back on August 23.
Jese would be reunited with another former Real Madrid player at the Stadio San Paolo, Jose Callejon.
