Both players are considered to be hot property on the transfer market. Moroccan centre-back Benatia’s form in the past 18 months has seen him recently nominated for Best Defender in Serie A at the annual Oscar del Calcio awards.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Insigne has pulled attention for his influential displays with Serie B side Pescara. According to the Italian Under-21 international’s agent, his parent club Napoli are in talks with Udinese about a possible swap deal for Benatia.
“The good performances from Insigne have become the norm, we are in a period where he is playing very well,” began Antonio Ottaiano in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“The future? Benatia to Naples and Insigne to Udine? I believe that the two clubs are working on such an operation. We have an agreement with Napoli: define Lorenzo’s position here shortly.
