The Uruguay international has impressed at the Sardegna Arena since his move from Boca Juniors last summer, leading to speculation regarding his future with the Casteddu.
The midfielder has contributed to the best start of a season since the Scudetto winners in 1969-70 and his performances has linked him with the giants in Italy.
But Bentancur has claimed Nandez already has agreed to extend with the Rossoblu, telling Tuttomercatoweb: “Before the lockdown we reached an agreement with Cagliari, but the signature is still missing.
“Everything has been resolved and the new deal will include a €38m buy-out clause. But with the financial problems caused by COVID-19, the clauses aren’t reliable.”
Nandez has played 23 games in Serie A this term, contributing one goal and four assists, as Cagliari sit 12th in the table ahead of the resumption.
