Yuto Nagatomo’s agent confirms the full-back will return to Inter from Galatasaray at the end of the season “then we’ll see what the situation is”.

The Japanese international joined the Turkish giants yesterday, but it was assumed to be a straight loan deal as there was no mention of an option to buy.

The Japanese international joined the Turkish giants yesterday, but it was assumed to be a straight loan deal as there was no mention of an option to buy.

“Recently he wasn’t playing much,” Federico Pastorello, who worked on the deal alongside Nagatomo’s agent, Roberto Tukada, told FCInterNews.

“Coach [Luciano] Spalletti has made and is making different choices, and since the World Cup is on the horizon it’s normal that, like all international players, he hopes to play more consistently to get ready for the World Cup.

“He’s left a great club in Inter to go to an equally prestigious club in Galatasaray. Just like Yuto they’re ambitious, a team that’s fighting to win the league.

“The player is happy with his new destination, just as he’s ready to lend a hand to try and win the league.

“It’s a five-month loan, then he’ll return to Inter. At the end of the season, together with Roberto Tukada and Inter, we’ll see what the situation is and take a decision.”
