Adrian Mutu finally scored his first goal since the doping ban, dedicated it to Sinisa Mihajlovic and admitted: “I can't wait for 2010 to end.”

It has been a very rough year for the Romanian, who was suspended from January to the end of October for failing a drugs test and was involved in a bar brawl with a waiter.

“I dedicate this goal to Mihajlovic, who defended me in public when many others might not have done, and to the fans for their support during the ban,” he said.

Mutu scored the only goal to defeat Cagliari 1-0 this afternoon and rushed to hug his Coach on the sidelines.

“This was one of the best days of 2010 and in all honesty I can't wait for this year to end. The important thing was to win today and continue the path we were on in recent games.

“We knew that we could struggle against Cagliari, but those results you get while sweating are always the sweetest.”
