“When I was a child, a school close to my home was part of the Inter Campus project,” the Colombian international told Libero newspaper.
“There were many kids from all over Colombia, as we didn’t just play football there, we met with different cultures. They’d give us Inter jerseys and autographed pictures of the players. When you’re a kid, that really creates a bond with a team.
“Inter have always meant a lot to me and they were my family’s favourite team. Ivan Ramiro Cordoba played here too and we’d watch his games. It was always a dream for me to come here.
“It was such an emotional moment to sign for this club. Did Juventus want me in January? You always hear rumours, but I was concentrated only on Granada.”
Murillo will now face Juve tomorrow evening and there’s no doubt this is more than just a game.
“You can sense the rivalry and how much the fans want to win. Fredy Guarin and my teammates told me what this means. I love this kind of match.
“Are Inter stronger than Juventus this season? The statistics do the talking and right now we are ahead of them in the table.
“We’re working to improve our game more every day. You learn something new every day, but I am well aware I need to do more with my left foot.
“If I score against Juventus, I’ll celebrate with the heart gesture for my wife. Would I settle for third place? No, never. You must always target the top.”
