Luis Muriel believes Atalanta have finally found their feet in the Champions League after beating Dinamo Zagreb 2-0. “We’ll go for qualification.”

The Colombian converted a penalty before the Papu Gomez stunner at San Siro.

“I think we deserved a win earlier in the competition, as we’d put in some good performances, but this was a great joy for us and for this club that is making history,” Muriel told Sky Sport Italia.

La Dea can still qualify for the Round of 16 if they beat Shakhtar Donetsk and Manchester City avoid defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.

“We hope this is the turning point and that now Atalanta are truly a Champions League team. We have this final game and will try to play even better.

“There had already been signs of real growth against Manchester City, but here we dominated from start to finish, had five or six big chances in the first half alone and the result was never in question.

“We were convinced after we drew with Manchester City and the other teams drew both their games, we saw this possibility of qualification and knew we could go for it.”
