“With Fernando I have to say that as a person and as a professional there is no discussion,” Mourinho has told reporters today.
“He is an exceptional guy and professional, but he needed a change. Now he is at Milan and his passion for football will motivate him.
“I am an Inter fan and would have preferred to see him in a Nerazzurri shirt, but out of respect for the people who work at Milan and because of the affection that we have for Fernando, I hope he does very well with the Rossoneri.”
Mourinho also took some time to discuss Antonio Conte’s Italy and the Italian sides competing in this year’s Champions League.
“I was very happy in Italy and was always behind the Azzurri, firstly with Prandelli and now with Antonio, to whom I wish all the best.
“Juventus and Roma are two great sides and it makes me happy to see them in the Champions League, we will see if next Inter can return as well.”
