José Mourinho celebrated his birthday inside Roma’s dressing room and gave captain Lorenzo Pellegrini a slice of his birthday cake, just in front of Nicolò Zaniolo.

The Special One turns 60 today and Roma players and staff members celebrated his birthday in the dressing room before a training session.

Mourinho cut a slice of cake and brought it to Lorenzo Pellegrini, standing at a corner close to Zaniolo. The latter has asked to leave the club and was not included in Roma’s squad for their away win to Spezia over the weekend.

The Portuguese coach did the same when celebrated his 59th birthday last year, giving a slice of cake to his captain.

Zaniolo applauded Mourinho and the same did Rick Karsdorp who hasn’t featured for the club since the coach accused him of betraying the team with his attitude after a 1-1 draw at Sassuolo.

The speech he delivered was typical of Mourinho: “What speech? Let’s go to work, we have a game on Sunday, come on.”

Next up, the Giallorossi visit table leaders Napoli at the Stadio Maradona.
