Thiago Motta has confirmed that he will become the next Genoa Coach, telling reporters he is “ready to get going”.

Motta accepted an offer of employment from Genoa earlier today and will commence his duties tomorrow.

Tuttomercatoweb caught up with the former Italy midfielder as he arrived in the Ligurian capital and told its correspondent he was “ready to get going”.

The move marks a return to Marassi for the 37-year-old after he played for them during the 2008-09 campaign.

It will also be his first senior position in management, having so far only coached Paris Saint-Germain’s Under-19 team.
