Inter have been told to sell Thiago Motta to Paris Saint-Germain if they don’t consider him as a key part of their project.

The French giants have made an offer for the midfielder and the player is ready to go – but not for financial reasons.

“He presently earns €3.5m a season,” agent Alessandro Canovi told Sport Italia. “He would get less than that in France.

“The principal problem is not economical, it is about whether Inter believe that he is an important player for their future.

“We have to understand whether Inter believe in him or not.

“It would also be wrong of them to say that they’ll keep him until June and then sell him. You either create a project around Thiago or you sell him.”

The 29-year-old midfielder, signed from Genoa in 2009, is only contracted to the Nerazzurri until June 2013.
