Inter assistant Marco Domenichini says there is more to come from his side after today’s 2-0 win over SPAL.

Mauro Icardi’s first half penalty was added to by Ivan Perisic’s late strike, giving the Nerazzurri their third win in as many Serie A matches this season.

And Domenichini, standing in for Luciano Spalletti post-match, said the duo’s first few months in charge at the San Siro have been positive.

“The results have been positive, but there is still room to improve,” he began to reporters.

“We need to integrate new players but it’s one thing to work after victories and another to work having not won.

“Winning is easier.”

Domenichini praised the spirit shown by his side as they look to integrate a host of summer signings into the team.

“I liked that we showed the right spirit and the will to be a group.

“Maybe what I liked a little less was certain moments when the ball should have been managed better in order to find the right moment in which to take advantage.

“This team does things with intelligence, the approach was good.

“Problems can exist but the important thing is to be a group and overcome certain periods.

“You could see that even today.”

Today’s match at San Siro kicked off at 12.30pm Italian time, with the assistant boss praising the atmosphere created by fans inside the stadium.

“I’d like to thank the crowd, it’s hard to find that atmosphere in other stadiums.

“We try to repay their faith by giving it our all. The team is conscious of that.

“We want to make them happy.”

Domenichini was also asked to comment on the performances of Dalbert Henrique and Marcelo Brozovic.

“Henrique was in hist first game with us and he did good things.

“He needs to do a lot of things but his match was positive.

“Marcelo came on in the right way at a particular moment, I would say his performance was positive too.”

Finally, Spalletti’s assistant praised star forward Icardi for his desire to work without the ball.

“Against defensive teams it’s not easy to find space. In some phases of play the ball could have been managed better.

“But Icardi worked, he wasn’t that dangerous but he gave great support when we didn’t have the ball.”
