For several days now there have been reports that Indonesian magnate Erick Thohir will complete his takeover of the club on September 3.

That would mean this might be Moratti’s final match at San Siro as President of Inter.

“I don’t like saying that and I don’t think so, anyway,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am emotional, but the way I always am before an Inter match that starts the season. We haven’t reached an agreement yet. If we do, then that’s fine. If we don’t, then nothing will be done. My desire is to do things properly, then we’ll see if it’s enough.”

There were also rumours emerging within the last hour that Eto’o is in Milan, perhaps to discuss contract terms for a return to the Nerazzurri.

“Eto’o? We’ll see what happens over the next few days,” replied Moratti.

It is believed his first choice is Chelsea, but that a deal with Jose Mourinho’s side is very difficult.
