Inter President Massimo Moratti assured he will “continue to collaborate in one form or another” with investor Erick Thohir.

The talks have been going on with Indonesian magnate Thohir all summer and reports suggest the deal will be closed on September 3.

It’s still not clear how many of the shares Thohir will buy out and whether Moratti will still have a role within the club.

“This Board of Directors meeting was to conclude last season, nothing more,” assured Moratti when leaving the Inter HQ this evening.

“We talked about the way the team is going, the transfer strategy and the rest. There is satisfaction.

“Is this my last Board meeting? No, it’s not. It seems to me you already know enough about this, as I read things in the papers that even I didn’t know…

“In reality there are negotiations going on and it involves people with their own sensibilities. In any case, there is fondness between us, but there are still some aspects to clarify.

“It can be a new beginning, but I will continue to collaborate in one form or another. I see this as an intention to build something important that doesn’t exclude one person or another.

“It’s like when there are two parents who both want what is best for their son: that’s the direction we’re going in.”
