The Nerazzurri Coach has been embroiled in a controversy this week, after accusing Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri of directing homophobic insults at him during their Coppa Italia tie.

Sarri has copped a two-match ban for the incident, and the former patron believes the Beneamata boss has acted correctly.

Sarri has copped a two-match ban for the incident, and the former patron believes the Beneamata boss has acted correctly.

“Mancini has shown civility and courage,” Moratti told Mediaset.

“He’s courageous, and he’s shown that on many other occasions. It wasn’t telling tales, it happened in front of everyone, so it was out there as soon as it happened.

“Mancini did very well, he was offended on behalf of others, he’s a civilised person.”

Moratti then went on to discuss Inter’s goals for the rest of the season, and believes they should aim for the title.

“For Inter the goal must always be the Scudetto. That said, they’d be doing very well to get into the Champions League too.”
